SMEs from the Valparaíso region showcase their products to APEC delegates
Viña del Mar, May 6, 2019.- ProChile Director Jorge O'Ryan and the regional director of the Economy Ministry for the Valparaíso Region, Javier Puiggros, inaugurated the Chilean Villages in the Hotel Sheraton de Miramar this morning. The initiative is taking place in the context of the Second Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 2) of APEC Chile 2019, which is being held in Viña del Mar.
The exhibition comprises 35 local companies that produce gourmet food products, cosmetics, jewelry, textiles, clothing accessories and creative products. They will participate in three five-day exhibition cycles between now and May 18.
The director of ProChile, Jorge O’Ryan, emphasized that “the Chilean Villages is a showcase for our regional exporters. But this is not only a commercial opportunity; it also provides the chance to show Chile and its people’s wealth of production and creativity through products with local identity. This will contribute to building our image as a country among the APEC delegates who are here in the region.”
The regional director of the Economy Ministry, Javier Puiggros, added, “gaining access to markets in the Asia-Pacific region for our SMEs, together with helping them build their export capacity, is one of the challenges that we are working on in this region, together with ProChile.”
