APEC holds contest for photos that reflect the priorities and slogan of APEC Chile 2019
Participants must be citizens or residents of one of the 21 APEC economies and may submit up to three photos.
Images can tell stories, but they can also connect and empower communities through the message that they deliver. This is why the largest economic forum in the Asia-Pacific region has launched the 2019 APEC Photo Contest.
Both professional and amateur photographers can participate using professional or digital cameras or mobile phones to illustrate the APEC Chile 2019 slogan “Connecting People, Building the Future” or its priorities, which are Digital Society, Sustainable Growth, Integration 4.0 and Women, SMEs and Inclusive Growth.
“The 2019 APEC Photo Contest is more than just a competition. It offers an opportunity to participate in the APEC community and for the economies to understand how the public perceives the year’s priorities. It will be valuable feedback for all of us,” explained APEC Secretariat Executive Director Rebecca Sta Maria.
Participants must be citizens or residents of one of the 21 APEC member economies and may submit up to three photos.
Images may be submitted using an online form and/or by tagging APEC on Instagram using the hashtag #APECPhotoContest2019. All submissions must be received by 5.30 p.m. Singapore time (GMT+7) on September 23, 2019. Anyone participating in the competition via Instagram will also have the opportunity to win the APEC Influencer Award, which carries a prize of SGD 1,000 (USD 729 approx.)
The winner of the Best Photography prize will receive SGD 2,500 (USD 1,823) and the second and third prize winners will take home SGD 2,000 (USD 1,458) y SGD 1,500 (USD 1,093), respectively. In addition, voting will be held on social media between October 7 and 28, and the photograph that receives the most votes will be awarded SGD 1,000 (USD 729).
All of the winners of the 2019 APEC Photo Contest will be announced at the last Senior Officials’ Meeting to be held in Chile, which will take place on November 11 and 12 in Santiago.
